Job Description

Smart Applications International is looking for a Sales Officer to join their Kigali team.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Conduct market research to identify selling possibilities and evaluate customer needs.

  • Actively seek out new sales opportunities through cold calling, networking, and social media.

  • Set up meetings with potential clients and listen to their wishes and concerns.

  • Prepare and deliver appropriate presentations on products and services.

  • Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business.

  • Identify potential clients and the decision-makers within the client organization, research and build relationships with them.

  • Set up meetings between clients decision-makers and the company's practice leaders/Principals.

  • Plan sales approaches and pitches, and work with the team to develop proposals that address the client's needs, concerns, and objectives.

  • Champion the pricing of the solution/service.

  • Present new products and services and enhance existing relationships.

  • Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs.

  • Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs.

  • Identify opportunities for campaigns and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.

  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company's unique selling propositions and differentiators.

  • Create frequent reviews and reports with sales and financial data.

  • Ensure the availability of stock for sales and demonstrations.

  • Participate on behalf of the company in exhibitions or conferences.

  • Negotiate/close deals and handle complaints or objections.

  • Collaborate with team members to achieve better results.

  • Gather feedback from customers or prospects and share with internal teams.


Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in IT/Computer Science.

  • Knowledge in sales and marketing.

  • Experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in marketing or sales, is an added advantage.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Skill in customer service, support, and training, with a demonstrated customer service orientation.

  • Strong analytical and report writing skills.

  • Quick learner with demonstrated product knowledge and professionalism.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.

  • Team player, with the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with customers and other service delivery functions.

  • Self-starter with possession of self-management and self-drive to complete tasks and engage customers.

  • Proactive and highly organized, with strong time management and planning skills.

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and remain calm under pressure with a high degree of individual responsibility.
